Urgh, so, japanese laws and "peace"(because the country with one of the biggest and most organized crime organization in the world is such a role model in every way, where a word for "death from overwork" exists and that has an extremely unhealthy work situation and that is against any and all immigration to the point where it's ridiculously hard to become a citizen there). I mean, wow. Sure, it's peaceful, not going to dispute that, but at the cost of so many things. I like japan, but I would never, ever want to live there, I just want to visit and look around now and then.

Really, the laws and general attitude they have is the reason why we get so many worthless mcs that, extremely illogically, can't harm anyone no matter what they do. Because killing is wrong even in a world where that's the only way to control things ?

Well, whatever, seems this isn't going to be my piece of cake.

I've read a lot of iskeai, but this is the first one, where I hope to see more of the god. The goth loli with too much of an ego is not that much different to famous Aqua, but somehow feels fresh to me.

I'm not blaming his female friend overmuch...

She apparently liked him from what the glasses/judge girl implies, but him failing his exam FIVE TIMES and still being jobless at nearly 30 is just as bad as calling him "worthless." It's harsh but at face value, he's a NEET chasing a dream he unfortunately doesn't have the potential to achieve (but I'm only reading the first chapter so far, so he may have some yet unexplained tragic backstory showing how he's always screwed over by fate in some manner).

Even Love Hina's Keitaro got into the vaunted Tokyo University after so-many-odd attempts.

Apparently captcha puzzles are the basis for magic in this world.

@Doopington
Just so you know, if American bar exams are anything like Japanese bar exams (and just looking over it, I would imagine Japan's would be even more difficult since Japan has far more legal qualification distinctions, including several beneath/less qualified than court-practicing attorney), bar exams on average have about a ~60% failure rate. So... Someone failing it 5 times is not absurd (it could potentially happen in the States where a lawyer is all-encompassing for practicing law and likely less difficult than being a full-fledged lawyer in Japan), but kinda going into "are you sure about continuing this/are you applying yourself" territory. Part of the problem is him wanting to become a full-fledged lawyer and boasting he'll earn more money than his friends... and not adequately applying himself. Kinda a shit behavior that shows he hasn't really grown up yet and it's like a 10-year-old doing a slightly more mature "Stupid! I'll s-s-show y-y-y-you!". Some humbling could go a long way there.

Given Japan's current economic situation, too, being unemployed or severely underemployed is not bizarre at all. There's only so many jobs to go around and there's a shitload of people that are highly qualified (in theory) to fill them. That's how you get ridiculous and hilarious circumstances like Japanese banks having ATMs inside the building itself, attendants everywhere, and Japanese businesses still routinely relying so much on faxes like we're still in the early 90s because they're horrified at the public perception and reality of firing about 30% of their workforce if they dare join the rest of the 21st century and modernize and trim their office to cut the fat and improve efficiency. Japan is very much in a cultural and economic "Jesus, fuck, oh shit. Pretend everything is fine and fix it. No one panic. NO ONE PANIC!" situation. But at least Japan is more sane than... certain other countries... facing similar problems and is slowly trying to fix the problems and doing so on their own.

So it's a discount Phoenix Wright isekai... And I don't want to say anything bad about their legal system, but I would not want to be charged of a crime there.

I just kinda want the "friends" to feel like shit after everything that happened.

I want the friends to feel bad but only the girl who used to like him. The others seemed nice enough. It's definitely not because I have a fetish for that sort of thing.
