Okay, so I can sort of get not wanting to go the plain old tired route of "they met in childhood and it was the most momentous thing in her life but he forgot," since that's not only cliched by cruel, but this whole "gets physically ill then passes out whenever he tries to remember, then dreams about it and forgets the dream" thing is just painfully awful.
