From personal experience, moving from a big city like Tokyo to someplace out in the boonies is a huge shock and downgrade. For someone like Sou who grew up in the countryside (with a thick country accent she tries to hide) it wouldn’t be as bad.

At least Nozomu has a more-than-platonic girl to hang out with.
