The cosplay discussion is more about the outfits he got the Mayor and Aina and all the nobles fawning over them.
aina did take karen's measurements so i imagine it must've been a decent site if not a professional cosplay tailor they send the numbers to as a 'commission' but it would be interesting if he printed a bunch of 'concept art' and it suddenly became a trend to dress like a magical girl, i'm sure the 'lolita' aesthetic would be fitting too, but either way i'm sure he'll make a decent profit even if he doesn't become some head CEO /top merchant or so in this world , as long as there doesn't end up being like, an 'allergic reaction' to some beauty products lol

(also off topic but i'd love it if this team or another could pick up the mofumofu cafe isekai manga lol)

He could start industries, patent technology. But he still just sells matches and soap..... The plot doesn't make sense.
Patents require that there is a patent system in place, that is more modern concept, so can not reasonable assumed unless the author directly mentions it.

Industries require capital and resources which he does not have, and will not easily acquire in a medieval world where the nobles will try and take anything for themselves.

They will have servants do the shopping.
Actually, patents as a concept go back pretty far. Going back to 500 BC, in the Greek city of Sybaris, "encouragement was held out to all who should discover any new refinement in luxury, the profits arising from which were secured to the inventor by patent for the space of a year." Obviously the author is using modern language to describe the ancient practice, but the concept was still sound.

Also, he could start industries and patent technology, and then regret everything as he destroys their culture (think Nobel and wanting to be known for peace, not wartime explosives). This way he provides small things that help the populace and himself, while not rocking the boat too much, either.

Bwahahaha, who needs a letter of recommendation when folks ask for you directly? Perfect!
Never understood the letter of recommendation in real life too. I go to those who need me, not those who feel needy.

Letters of Recommendation, Treasury Notes, Bonds for Gold, PAPER MONEY aka FIAT CuRrEncY - these were made by scum who wanted the people to become poor every 100 years or so. Of course the rich, the scums of the past, will not be affected, because what they passed were notes, which have no meaning, but the actual gold and silver are with them.

They can now make companies collapse and fall, but the rich ( aka the international settlements ) will always retain their properties in their "banks". Reality: make a news where "hackers caused a market crash in banks" in "agenda 20x0", simulated in "prestigous universities".

I would have been like "Oh sorry I can't do buisness here, all these guilds rejected me besides a minor one. If you have any issues with that blame them, if you want these products you'll have to come to my home town".

He might be able to, but manufacturing gets expensive quickly. You need lands, building, various legal nonsense taken care of, workers, machines, supplies, and raw materials.

Man, he can convert money. You can get capital in a lot of ways. In Rise of the Bookworm, for example, she made paper in a year (handmade from scratch) and the merchant invested in the production. And here he can just bring in the finished product. Why would he go into the trade in the first place? There are far more valuable commodities than matches. And that's not to mention medicine or any revolutionary discoveries.
He saw a market he could exploit and chose the cheapest option for the greatest profits. He's not trying to be the richest person in the world, he just doesn't want to work at a Black Company again. Also remember he started out in a small town in the boonies, his products were meant for the adventurers there, not random nobles in the major cities.

Again, the simplest shampoo is made easily. No one is saying to start producing paste or any complicated medicines. But he can use what our world provides - a lot of ready-made tools.
That's not guaranteed to net him more money than buying cheap already made goods and selling them at an increase in the other world. Like he did with the matches and now will be doing with soap and shampoo.

It all makes sense because we're talking about profits. Matches are the worst thing you can think of. Even rolls of cloth - as someone already wrote - would be much more profitable.
Also, more expensive to buy. If he was importing cloth, it wouldn't be nobles but tailors buying it. Which may or may not work depending on the price.

He's also only trying to earn enough money to never again have to work an office job in our world.
