Well, probably not. But this issue seems rather complicated. They seem to be under the impression that humans are just smart for pets. But if they ever figure out the humans are at least as intelligent as they are, this could all become a whole thing. Like, civil rights movement vs opposition who still don't agree humans should be looked at as equals kind of thing. Some time after that it might be no different than a human and an elf in some fantasy world getting together. But for now, yeah it's basically beastiality I'd assume.
