Premise makes a lot more sense. Humans dont die of old age/live for too long. so the king decided to monopolize old age for himself

classic story of immortality being introduced into society. Though its usually a dystopian future. I think that anime with the gun head had similar lore.

i feel like they prob shoulda at least explained humans live much longer in chapter 1 rather ch2 though
