The one thing I don't like about these manga where the girl has slept around is that the MC never seems to have to confront that reality by getting into a confrontation with an asshole ex. No one ever shows up to be like "yeah I fucked her too, you're not special dude." Which would be an interesting scenario for an author to handle.

You know thats an interesting point that I never thought of.... I don't think I can think of any series where that happens.

You know, it's hard to tell how much of guy's rejection at this point is him being considerate versus him being insecure, so that he leaves all the initiation up to her.
She clearly likes him now, so at least some proactivity would be good. Like he could've been the one proposing to hug for a bit here.

I think he's just trying to be considerate to her and thinking long term which is what all her ex's failed at. It's real nice to have a MC not be like some kind of sex fiend lol.

That said I like your suggestion on him proposing the hug, that would have been a nice progression.

I do get this, but it's also kinda like he's giving her all the responsibility for the advancement of the relationship.
Like, one might expect something like that from a more experienced partner, but he also knows that she has zero experience in taking the lead and likely doesn't get herself all that much.
I'm not saying that he has to go all the way (even though from an outsider point of view, I think that she's ready for that now), but he should do more.

Yeah he'll for some reason not think anything of it even though he knows all the ex's were pump and dumps so this would most likely be her first ever 2nd month anniversery and finally a first she could have with MC and he'll while well meaning hurt her over it by either downplaying the event or forgetting about it.

Important to remember that, just days before, dude was struggling with getting up the courage to initiate hand-holding. Neither has experience in taking the lead, and he had no prior experience of ANY sort. He may be thinking about the possibility of full physical intimacy, but that's a long way from actually BEING ready for it (which will likely be an issue even if she actually does try to start things up).
