If this was the school i went to they would have been forced to go regardless. I remember once, it was winter and we had late classes, so we had to stay until 8 pm. Already pretty bad, but we also had no heating, and no power. So all we could do was stay in a dark room, with out jackets on shivering. The school just refused to let us go home.
