This is honestly the greatest sex scene in manga, and probably in all of fiction. It's literally perfect.
I love how pathetic it is. I love how awkward it is. I love how desperate it is. I love how it juxtaposes life-represented by sex and birth, with death. I love how it misdirects the reader into thinking he's speaking of "feeling" literally and crying because of the sensation, but reframes it as the scene goes on to trying to identify the emotion he's feeling (in this case, "gratitude"). I love the bold decision to make the climax of your political thriller the consummation of a relationship. I love absolutely everything about this scene.
Through this, Kiichi comes to understand the love that his parents had for one another, and that love completely overwhelms him. He's happy, but also sad because he knows his happiness is soon to end. Now that he has something to live for, the man who defiantly stood against death time and time again finally understands the weight of his own mortality-now that he has something to lose, he's scared.
It might also be my favorite scene in all of Kiichi, though it's hard to beat Kai's confrontation with his father.
