FUCK WHY DID YOU POINT OUT THAT IT'S GABEN, I NEARLY DIDN'T NOTICE
Anyway, I actually like when you do English SFX, but if it's too rough then I can understand. Most official English releases don't even bother to put the work in.
Since she can increase her size (from grenade to giant centipede) then why not just do it inside the jar? She practically burst out of the police car so a little jar ain't much. Oh manga logic, lulz.
@Liquidxlax If it was another country, he might get fired, but it's Japan, so no chance. The Japanese police is highly incompetent as an organisation (of course there are still good individuals in its ranks), and they know it themselves, so if they started to fire people because of the stupid things they do, every single officer in the forces would become worried. They do their best to hide and deny their mistakes for the sake of saving face (although maintaining face is an important cultural aspect in much of East Asia, so it's not strange, per se). Though I doubt the story will go back to it, but I'd expect these cops to come up with one excuse or another to explain this so that it wasn't their fault. The most likely excuse would be that the jar the MC used was subpar and the tanuki escaped on its own.
I applaud this author! This dumbass cop looked so natural dumbass, I shook my head and had a little rage fit. It's easy to screw that up and make him look like a cheap plotdevice, but I believe (know) such guys exist (not only in police forces).
@XL: She was warned by husbando, after he captured her, that this jar was a special container and if she would transform to break out of it, she would be squashed by it instead. That threat seemed to be plausible as even the cops trusted that jar. (So those jars seem to exist.)
@XL Explained in an earlier chapter. They need space to expand or they'll get crushed, so they can transform into a grenade because it's small enough to fit inside the jar. Once they were free from the jar, they could transform into a centipede because they had the space.
