As for who Yuta wants to eat, Kobayashi has denied it being her which seems reasonable, it definitely isn't Saikawa, perhaps her older sister? (Who am I kidding, it's probably going to end up being Shota)

In ch. 181 we see Yutarama's thoughts when she interacts with Telne. It's Kobayashi's soul she wants.

I wish Cool would give a bit more explanation of the world, even if they were just some notes in the margins or in afterwords. I think Kobayashi's apathy is a lame excuse for the lack of description of what should be very basic world knowledge.

Like this chapter Elma talks about demons in a manner that suggests everyone present has at least a surface level understanding of what they are, but we as readers haven't been subject to any of that. I didn't even realize "demon" was its own species or specific group beyond general supernatural evils until now and just figured Yutarama being called a demon dragon was a description of how she chooses to act with her powers as a dragon (steal and eat souls) rather than something she is implicitly.

If it were a mystery being fed out piecemeal I'd get it, but it doesn't seem like that's Cool's intention, he is just seemingly uninterested in explaining his world beyond what is immediately most relevant. And when the series is being fluffy slice of life that works well enough, but then it tries to turn to serious action and drama and I'm just left sitting here going "I still don't actually know what a demon or god is and I've been reading this for ten years." (Actually for that matter, I'm still not entirely sure what a 'dragon' is.)

You're honestly in the wrong series if you're looking for anything deep, story or lorewise. 😅
They're not always 1:1, but most of the mythical characters backstories are basically their myths/legends about them so that's likely the reason Cool-sensei didn't to be detailed with some of these characters. The obvious exceptions to these are some of the original characters like Tohru.

There are some story-heavy plots here and there, but thankfully the series didn't forget what are its main attractions like in other series: dragons, fanservice, slice-of-life and romcom, a bit of fantasy, and some character developments. Nothing too dark too. That's what I've expected from the series from the start, and I'm glad it stayed that way.
