Is this some kind of competition? Who the fuck does he think he is? Actually, scratch that, who is he really? I genuinely don't even remember this dude. It always baffles me when manga authors insert some minor characters just to showcase their pathetic jealousy towards the protagonist, which has no impact on the story whatsoever. The only other purpose they serve 99% of the time is cheap, shitty exposition tools. They're not only utterly unnecessary, but actually detrimental to the final quality of the story, in my opinion.

I don't think so, it has been made a plot point that it needs to be someone who knows the lines, the cues and the dance moves, so it cannot be anyone else but Irie. Irie has been made into a key character, perhaps not a love interest, but definitely someone central to this arc, and there's a great deal of things the manga wants us to be asking about this character, like why does she have a stick up her ass, so I expect the manga to confront her about all that
