Err, no, Mao Mao. First of all, the baby being upside down is usually a good sign (or maybe a sign the baby will be prematured), but I guess either the original text or the translation is erroneous here. Secondly: the baby usually turns itself upside down between the 7th and the 8th month of pregnancy, usually by the end of the 7th. That means it's normal to have its head up and not down 2 months before birth, at the start of the 8th month.

I mean, in this story chocolate can be used as Viagra and Pairin was capable of lactating on command. A lot of the science is "fun fact on a candy wrapper" tier, without much in-depth research.

I think it's more of a bit light fantasy than just not researching things. There is a lot of superstition, and some of that has a degree of truth to it. Here it's treated as a bit more true than it is in reality.
