In her defense, he actually does suck at communicating, and because of that it’s impossible to gauge what’s a sensitive topic to him or not. If she had known that beforehand, she wouldn’t have said something like that, cause she obviously meant no harm, and he hasn’t reacted to literally anything else she’s done the whole series.

Ah ffs seriously screw Kuzumi, I like this manga and its characters but I hate how he acts like he doesn't even acknowledges her existence 99% of the time and then gets mad when she doesn't understand his feelings.
It makes no sense to blame Erika like people are doing here when she spent more than a year trying to get close to him and all he ever did was vaguely acknowledge her presence when it was convenient for him and give mixed signals to the point not even his best friend has any idea what he's thinking.
She might be a tsundere and often rude but Kuzumi is a selfish asshole for showing interest in her but never making the least effort to actually bond with her. There were several times she tried talking to him and all he did was fuck off somewhere.
Fuck Kuzumi, peace out.

Yo, so, I know the chapters after this one seem to have been purged so you can’t see what happens next, but I’m pretty sure I remember from when I read it a while back that he actually tried to answer her and genuinely engage when she was asking about the careers thing. He just said it quietly because he isn’t great at speaking loudly. You can even see it, it’s the speech bubble with the line and dots.
But yeah, anyway, to him it seems like even when he actually did muster up the energy to try to give a proper response, she just sorta just steamrolled over what he was saying anyway, making him wonder why he even bothered trying in the first place and got frustrated.
