If you played any Resident Evil game, you'd notice the bad guys (Birkin, Wesker, Alexia Ashford) all started their careers as mad scientist when they were teens, that's the "kid prodigy" trope at work.

Terada would make a convincing Umbrella scientist too, though I guess part of the reason why he's such a misanthrope is because he did not have the happiest life as a kid and so wants to get back at those who "cannot understand" (that is, anyone who's not an immoral bastard like him).

I just wish my Uroboros wife would messily eviscerate him at this point.

@nevian70gr On page 20 the word "system" is misspelled. Honestly I feel like the direction it will play out will be Terada gaining the upper hand until the others arrive to interrupt it then finally the Dad will wake up to sacrifice himself at the end. Thanks for the chapter.

Or hey, let's not forget Asuka of Eva fame has a phd and she's what, fourteen?

tl;dr - don't fret so much over this, it's hardly uncommon in fiction.
