I already forgot who the mc is fighting 💀
Gojim is the leader of a demonic faction planning to overthrow the current King of Demons. Their reason is simple: Gojim's demons greatly favour the traditional demonic type of the warrior-king and thus they see it as a disgrace when they are ruled by an intellectual with a lot of foresight skills who also favours peaceful relations with the neigbouring races.
Finar (the current King of Demons) and Gojim both do not want their political struggle to cause a full-scale civil war because that'll likely devastate their realm and weaken their race. Nevertheless behind the curtains there is an ongoing and very violent struggle where Finar's assassins regularly eliminate prominent Gojim's supporters and Gojim's intrigues may even occationally wipe out a small neutral tribe totally (as it almost happened to the birdmen in the immediately preceding chapters) because of the usual “join us or die” mentality dictated by the understanding that even neutral demons might eventually unite around the King.
Both demonic factions are shown to have foreign assistance. Peaceful relations with the demons' neighbours eventually let Finar to have access to some important elven intelligence reports (as seen in Chapter 56) and also to bring some very prominent figures (both the Humanity's Hero and the Demon Lord of the Wicked Forest) to the demons' realm. On the other hand, Gojim has access to some modern foreign magitech related to the undead — provided by his own allies. We have seen his faction almost successful in controlling an adjacent human kingdom behind the curtains under the pretext of a revolution but actually led by an undead prince puppeteered by a demon.
The elven realm is also mentioned to be under attack (as recently as in Chapter 56), but we'll see more details later when the story progresses.
