I like the part where the Hero's 12th-century brain is slowly realizing that the end goal of all systematic evils isn't creating "abundance" of any kind. It's about concentrating power into the very tip of the pyramid, and no matter how much they "win" the only ones who will see those rewards are the select few elites.

It seems kinda obvious to us today, after so many decades of anti-authority speech being prevalent, but it's cool to watch him put together the pieces and go "wait... this whole system sucks..." like that.

(just don't tell the other kings and queens that they're Part Of The Problem, no matter how benevolent they might seem)

If you take it the line of reasoning all the way to the end and reach the guillotine and revolutionary ideals like Communism sure, but the systems that are built on the guillotine are guilty of the same sins of authoritarianism.

Didn't expect the manga to suddenly hit the enlightenment and the reformation at the same time. Really fucking cool seeing Yuusha connect the dots and conceptualize freedom. Kinda ironic too that many of us live in a society of relative abundance and only have a vague concepts of freedom and liberty that were established during the enlightenment. I wonder how they will handle Hobbes leviathan too.
