So.... isn't this contradictory? The knight says the teacher was discriminating against commoners, but then says he has no shred of nobility. Doesn't having a shred of nobility in itself reinforce the lower position of a commoner?

@Capt_Gigglepants : they are pointed, just not as pronounced as some other series make them. Same with the knight.

Actually it depends on how typical elfish they are, most of our current elf tropes come from the lord of the rings, in which elves just have slightly up pointed ears like the grandma had, the more longer ears is somewhat of a amalgamation of different topics, but was probably mostly inspired by record of lodoss war when it comes to manga and anime.

Also i think the knight is supposed to be half elf, not a full elf.
