If you want BL with food, read our dining table or old fashioned cupcake lol (there was even live actions so i assume it focuses more on the food and emotional connection as opposed to anything too fanservicey that might put off someone that normally doesn't read non yuri gay series XD)

(and that somewhat newer? one where it's a post apocalyptic zombie thing where mc's love interests wants him to cannibalize him but that's quite a genre shift)

Pls no Yaoi. I hate Yaoi and Yuri in non-Yaoi or Yuri manga with a passion. If you wanted those, just go straight up and read a Yaoi manga. Do shippers even know the word "friendship" anymore?

Woah, didn't realize it got adapted. I'm always surprised by how much BL gets picked up for live action these days.

And the classic Solitary gourmet that’s more food based than any relationships

Don’t remember exact title but “if it’s with you” was a cute mini series (5 eps instead of like 9-10 , tho the manga’s story goes a bit over that) but think bl surprisingly gets picked more than yuri but I guess there’s be some more these days. It wasn’t yuri, tho I’m sure Some ppl would ship them but I remember seeing some “stepsisters living together and one being a good cook” was pretty cute

girl I know Hanayama and Takeya aren't actually gonna develop a romantic relationship....its just a one-off chapter that had a lot of yaoi vibes is all. I just wanted to point out the potential, I do think its great that the two of them are getting along as coworkers. It's very heartwarming. And while I understand that shipping characters unnecessarily can be annoying, in this case the suggestiveness is an intentional choice by the author.

Amida Muku had drawn BL before; the erotic depiction of Iinuma's eating is so well-executed because they draw influence from that. They are doing the same here with Hanayama and Takeya by presenting a wholesome situation framed in a way that suggests BL. That's the recipe for Meshinuma: wholesomeness with a hint of eroticism. While the eroticism is not the main focus, its presence serves to highlight the wholesomeness even more.

Not looking to get into any fights, just wanted to share my thoughts. Feel free to ignore!

Hmmm, I'm not able to find that miniseries but I want to watch it. I've noticed the same about BL versus GL getting picked up for live adaptations, which is a shame because I'm more likely to watch the latter nowadays. BL is probably the more profitable market, though, especially since I get the impression that romantic dramas have a female-leaning audience.
