If you noticed, the guy looked quite different when he looked down on him through that orb vs how he greeted the kid.

My guess is that the god is not telling the entire truth here. But doesn't want to give them too much of a push. Hence he seemed to be more nagging than demanding or ordering.

But maybe I am putting too much faith into the mangaka's writing skills.

But the god is pretty rude all things considered.
The MC knows nothing of the world and has nothing to his name when he first woke up in the middle of nowhere.

I mean sure, his skill is pretty OP but he still managed to make a decent living for himself in a month.
Even if the retirement plan is shit...

But hopefully, a GOD has a little more brainpower than he shows off.

I am vaguely reminded by that one isekai into a shitty MMO where it's filled with bugs and shitty game design, and after MC won against a ridiculously-strong female NPC (because of game dev bias), he triggers a worldwide event flag where all NPCs' dialogue changes to tell him to go to female NPC's family dojo. Of course I forgot the name... Has Neko or something.

And mc really is foolish beta to the core... letting himself be goaded like that, I would used his boredom and pride for my benefit while using the other "gods" comments about mcs skill being trash as a lever in the form of requestion another "weak" skill since it will be really hard to entertain god the way he is for now. (I also would note what kind of skill I would like to have, and if he states it's not possible or no, I would say something like "Ah is it too hard to create a skill like that? Sorry about that..." and seeing how he is, he may just give me the skill to prove he can create it~)
