Seriously, how is this manga so good??? Literally no one would read the premise of this manga and think "Hm, yes, indeed! This manga will be a beautifully thought out commentary on conformity and the struggle of being gay or otherwise "different" in a society where that is not considered acceptable and which does not account for the possibility of being so!" And it makes it so difficult to recommend to people despite it actually being one of the best explorations of these ideas that I've ever seen.

I really enjoy how unsettling this manga is in the background, and how it isn't played off as a joke.

Huh, so they both remember every loop and rather than end the loops choose to spend purgatory regaining their memories so they can be together?
It doesn't seem like they fully remember each loop, remember Misaki was certain the world would just end if a heroine wasn't chosen. But it is cute that they've tried to be together before
