It seems like I am an outlier, but I thought the CG devils were interesting. It obviously doesn't match the style, but to me that gave them a "this does not belong on this plane of existence" vibe which is appropriate.

.... That being said the whole prince fight was a letdown that doesn't feel like anything happened.

must people hate the cgi demons and such. i find them more unsettling. Like they aren’t from the world and are unnatural.

thanks for the chapter

Believed it or not, the LN got anime adaption coming in July. Looks like they took the art direction from the LN artist instead of manga artist. And who can blame the production team.

The main characters look great, and the background looks more fleshed out, but what about the mobs? Did they still use stiff, ugly CGI? The dullahan looks decent, but I don't remember if that was CGI before.

this chapter and the next one are the ones i feared peoples reaction because i knew people werent gonna be happy because of the CG monsters and the fact that at this point is kind of obvious that the author cant really draw fight scenes yet, is never clear whats going on
but at least no one can deny the moment Ryo descends is pretty cool.

Ma boi about to DESTROY them🔥
Also didn't Abel predict this would happen? Lol he joked about him flying like JK but he's gonna laugh when he sees that his human absurdity of a friend can ACTUALLY fly

I just don't like the 3D renditions of the monsters. I don't mind the sketch art style, it has its own flare.
This is usually a problem with Japanese artists. They focus so much on making human characters (and cats...) cute that they neglect to learn on how to draw monsters. The results is... inserting 3D models of generic monsters and crank up the contrast and don't bother to redraw it. On the other hand, western comic artists excel at creatures and monster.

I feel like it's been recent though like 5-10 years recent maybe. Berserk is a prime example, I stopped watching the anime because of the 3d renditions of monsters.

It definitely became more frequent during that time frame.

Berserk anime is a hell hole in general. I try to give a little break for animes because of how rushed their schedule is and they do have an opportunity to fix things in the blue ray version of the TV anime. Though, I don't know if Berserk ever got those fixes.

I've always said that if I'm smart and have some guts, I would open up a studio that does monsters and sound effects in Japan because that's where they're slow to act. I'm sure there are many talents in Japan that can produce these things too so, I'm baffled why managers of artists don't find and use these talents.
