She'll spare Taya's family, talking her family?

Anyway, all that "time" talk, isn't like the god were doing anything with all that time, right? It's pointless.

On the flip side, for immortals, whats the life of the entire human race? Just another insignificant speck of time. Why get worked up about it?
It’s because in all their thousands of years of life they’ve not been able to develop a fraction as far as the humans have. They’re just jealous of us.

i see, so the answer to "what will you have in 50 years" is "a personal spaceship and robot chef probably"
little does she know that she'll have to fight Skynet soon

I feel sorry for the author putting in so much effort for the story and battle but all I can focus on is how badly I want to be crushed by giant muscular monsters.
See, this is one reason (or two big reasons 👀) why people like me are complaining about said battles.

Ah yes, "this author sucks, they should hire me because I would do it better". The the tear-filled cry of the jealous is sounding again. :kek:
I like the part where you didn't get I was joking, I've never insulted the author (criticisms aren't insults), while none of you properly address my complaints about the story (of which other people have similar complaints too) and instead go for personal attacks and/or assumptions instead.

Your criticism is "why isn't the author doing their story the way I want it" which seems to become a increasing trend among manga readers these days, in both the professional and amateur areas.

Also putting "lol" doesn't automatically mean you're joking. It just means you're laughing, which can be in a light-hearted, mocking, or mean spirited manner. That's the reason why most public forums unofficially use /jk to indicate a joke, or /s to indicate sarcasm.

If I may add my two cents to the whole “slice of life or action” debate:

Nei has both a logical reason to do this from the perspective of the plot and experience with these kinds of elements.

Many arcs ago, Spider lady confronted her birth father. Many of the things I have seen regarding the action elements could’ve been said there, but people liked it. So what makes it so different here?

And also, something this manga has been hinting at a lot is the extremely harsh life of yokai and the fact that they are not known for being attached to humanity, which makes moments where one or two of them are extremely polarizing to other yokai, let alone them conceiving with one. Of course Miharu’s birth was never gonna be an easy one.

Best case scenario is Nei updates the manga’s genre classification (which, he has).

God forbid people discuss what they like or dislike about a series or a specific chapter/arc/character/etc., in a manga forum of all places! It's not like criticism is also part of loving and enjoying a series, and being a passionate fan (complaining is also fun tbh)!

No, my criticism is the author hooked (most of) us with the slice-of-life monstergirlfriend experience, but the people who were reading for that got bait-and-switched with a shonen manga genre shift out of nowhere when the series is almost over. Do they not matter when (I assume) they are most of the fanbase?

Nothing wrong with baiting us in with monstergirl cake, but there was zero indication they were eventually going to fight a literal god since the series started out, and a majority of it, is slice-of-life/romance. I did not read this for the action or worldbuilding because I'll just read an actual shonen series for that.

Still, the essence of my complaint is the shonen genre shift came in super late. I probably would not have minded it if it came early on, instead of when the story is basically over at this point.

Okay forgive me if I'm been "lol" using it wrong... this has been, well, the only forum I actually use. But it also seems to me that /jk is similarly used to "lol", and heck, could even be interpreted as more sarcastic than "lol" in my opinion.

I also admit I've been overusing lol a bit lately. Might be time to taper it down lo-. Ehem.

Honestly, I would rather the god stopping Amaterasu/ helping out Hiro to be Tsukiyomi The Japanese god of the moon and her brother, or Susanoo who is also her brother.
In Japanese culture and myth, rabbits are frequently associated with the Moon, so....
