But it makes you wonder: if this isn't a one-time thing and he can keep going back, he could even dedicate years to educating himself to learn how to cure her disease. It also reminds me of a Stargate SG-1 episode which was a take on Groundhog Day. Two guys that are military/soldiers keep looping and in order to solve it they had to learn an ancient alien language then decipher it. So while they're only looping for a period of a day each day they just keep getting lessons from the ancient cultural/language expert. One of the best scenes is where he starts trying to teach them the alphabet and grammar, thinking they know absolutely nothing about the language, and they are damn near fluent in it already.
I don't think this manga is going down that route, but hey, it's always a possibility. I just hope it ends with a somewhat positive ending at the least.
I had that thought, too. You know, people have actually taken some guesses at how long Bill Murray's character might have been stuck in that loop because of how long it would take to learn and become proficient at everything he did. It could easily be well over a decade.

@Talismaster This literally does the opposite of giving her a regret..? It lets her die knowing that someone actually cared about her specifically, which is like the one thing most people do care about before they die. Even if that wasn't the case I don't understand how any new regret could come from his confession. She either regrets not spending more time with him as a friend or regrets not spending more time with him as a romantic partner. She could have ruined his life just because he was trying to comfort her.

By telling her he loved her when she had resolved herself for death and convinced herself she’d lived a fulfilling high school life by avoiding a life-saving surgery that could have made her miss all that, but live longer in contrast...?
It gave her more to think about. Maybe she was in love too, and was in denial about having been satisfied. She might have imagined a future where they could have lived together happily, had kids, etc. That “happiness” she never got to taste could have given her despair, or regret. It’s not hard to see.
This girl is clearly a wild blooming flower, weak and fragile, and dying quickly, having convinced herself she’d live a fulfilled life that way rather than being in a “greenhouse” or hospital, kept alive, but not really alive... but there was a future in that path she could have taken and had far more time allotted to her, would the surgery have been successful.

@Talismaster And how is confessing to her supposed to change whether she had lived a fulfilling high school life? Yeah, it gives her something to think about, but that thing is good, which makes it oppose your argument. If she's upset because she was in denial, that is 100% her fault. You can't freak out at someone because their attempt to help you revealed that you were lying to yourself. Anyone that does shit like that is completely delusional, to the point where I would consider ending such a friendship immediately. Just picture any situation with those parameters that doesn't involve a deathbed. Imagine freaking out at a friend because they say they would've chilled with you at a party you were too pessimistic to invite anyone to. That's some certifiably insane shit.
And again, the one thing most people wish for on their deathbed is that someone had loved them specifically. It's a basic human need. He gave her exactly what he should have expected her to want. Blaming him is even more delusional than her freaking out, given the circumstances.
