If chivalry is dead, feminism killed it, wwwwwww

I unironically believe that men and women are to blame for killing that trope. Feminism wanted women to be more than damsels in distress, and men self-inserting into wanting to be the prince felt an illusion that they’re entitled to women they save... but you wouldn’t marry a fireman just because he pulled you out of a burning building, right?

The idea that there’s a perfect prince out there to rescue someone is sadly unrealistic...

well true... but this is still fiction. unrealistic fantasy of valor and chivalry should still exist.
there no reason for it to always be cynical.

@ryrie

I thought the same, but somehow she's getting full marks as a saintess. Poor girl, just wants to be a terrible human being in peace.

I think this is gonna be a story about a bunch of asshole slowly becoming less of a bunch of assholes.

I don't know why Silk was so eager to get into a relationship with him (I think she wants her title back) but so far she's best girl, which is a really fucking low bar.

That series went downhill fast.
Ellie, the one person with immunity, decides NOT to have children which could carry on her genes and to risk sacrificing humanity because of her prepubescent crush on a girl. It's fucking stupid.

@tamerlane I hope not. While I find it annoying that the mangaka draws them grimacing and angry all the time but forget to write in that the ppl around them get put off by it, I still hope they get out of the "forced to help by cursed item" gimmick soon. As it could be a bit fun to see them ruin the country by being villainous.

@feha They wouldn't do that. They aren't truly villainous as much as being extremely self-centred. Destroying the country they want to profit off of and life an easy life in would be counterproductive.

@nfzeta being self-centered is what villains are. So all they need to do is have the girl try to exploit men (as her goal is a rich man, what better target than various princes or noblemen?), causing a civil war by mistake. And the guy would simply need to try to either get his peace back, which would escalate in becoming a fugitive and needing to kill their armies to escape, or try to get the money he wants and end up somehow ruining the economy (he shouldnt impact country as much as the girl normally, but I can see an author forcing the plot to the latter anyway in some contrived fashion, for comedy).

@feha No villains are often self centred but you don't have to be a villain even if you're self centred. An example here, is that they don't care enough about the people around them to plot against them. That's just excessive effort and risk, for no real reason.
