best girl, shooting herself in foot :'(
Kinda how it is with shy girls like her. Only made worse when they’re not actually the real female lead. Just finished reading another story where the ‘shy childhood friend’ loses to the ‘knock-out tsundere beauty’ because she was never going to be decisive enough, and besides there was more character growth (and humor) to be had with the ‘tsun’. Though, in a way, the tsun in a given story is generally also shy, just often has violent or at least argumentative tendencies with their embarrassment.

Edit: Besides, it's far more interesting to see a 'tsun' and their male lead go from legitimately hating each other, mainly out of stubbornness as is the case here, to actually caring about each other, than it is to see two characters that are shy with each other and can't possibly imagine the other feels the same getting over their shyness. Not that I don't like those sorts of stories of pure love, but they have their place, and it's honestly clear to me what kind of story this is.

Anyway, my point is the sort of pairing that is Raku with Chitoge offers up far more potential for character growth and relationship development than the alternative.
