Since, at the very start, we learn about how his plan was to spend lunch that day confessing to another 14 girls. Then after she agrees to start dating as a trial, toward the end of the chapter he tells her straight to her face that

At this rate, maybe I can manage to get a second girlfriend too! I want to learn about lots of different heroine types (girls) in a short amount of time, I was thinking of dating multiple girls at once.

It seems to me like wanting to ask out others (even multiple at the same time) was always his intention. Don't get me wrong it makes sense for his character and his desire to write better novels, I just don't know what he was expecting to happen after saying that to someone who he started dating (even as a trial-run). Know what I mean?

He has very low ethics and no inner self controling what he says. If he thinks it he will blurt it out and she is known him for quite a while and fallen in love with him. She's always seen this side of him it's not like he suddenly changed. If she wants him for herself instead of him going after other women you'll have to let him know with how oblivious he is and the danger of him getting another girlfriend
