the series is totally written by a woman innit? similar observation as the few peeps have said above, it has the shoujo-esque elements written in it. reverse harem is certainly a possibility which doesn't pander to most of us..

i guess it's time for me to take a break from the series as i've convinced myself that the guy has already entered the main cast and a few more interactions with him and femc will further rot my vanilla self-insert brain and fry my neurons. i can't take this dread and impending doom i feel every time this guy shows up. holyshit, go on without me vanillabros..

You know this would of made a lot more sense if he was an incubus instead of a vampire lol

nononono mc. do you even realize why he doesnt have friend? perhaps maybe due to his unfitting PERSONALITY on society? his narcisism + his tendency to cuck others and shielding his behaviour towards "I am a vampire sucking blood is in my genes boohoo I only drink cute girl blood and cuck others why everyone is hating me" wtf

thats it, you have chances. making a pity chapter right after introducing a really controversial character is not the way of me enjoying this stuff.

I as a reader already questioned how genjin could be accepted in society with their behaviour. you guys even have a fricking invisible man that can literally infiltrates any kind of places. why not focuses on him and tell us more about their society! like, can invisible people see other invisible people? how do the food digest on their mouth, does it magically disappear? what about when they munch while opening their mouth. can we see the food reappear and disappear each time he munch stuff? what about identification? how can you detain a fricking invisible people who do bad stuff?! but noooo, instead of all those world building around genjin, we have this useless idiot thinking why he is being hated when all his personality is all "look at me I am handsome af lemme play with your feelings and suck your blood" if every vampire act like this dude. Vampire is doomed on that world.

I present to you

Damage Control: The Chapter

it was a pretty good one as well, she flipped his initial playboy personality into "the harmless masochist"
my guess is that a veteran editor stepped in to salvage the situation (the problem chapter had the same response in Japan)

Seems like an alright explanation, but I'm still wary.

Look, I know you might find me insufferable, but I just need an extremely wholesome and straightforward narrative to fill the MASSIVE HOLE that SukiGa Megane is gonna leave on my spiritual and emotional bodies...

Edit: And I also thought, last chapter, that we were going to know the other schoolmates with them (The Invisible Man boy and the human girl)

Wow!
To have the same response in diverging cultures... Truth be told, I find this fascinating

I can't wait for Tsumiki to build her harem. Maybe next will be the invisible dude?

But for real, I think the author shot himself in the leg. Main issue is that it's not published in shoujo magazine instead. Initial response in Japan was good, but now it's worse than here on Mangadex.

Expectations from chapters 1-2 were different than the current product.

I really don't think this was damage control? I think this was like. The plan. In the first place. Where's the jarring pivot? All this shit follows from what was set up before. The themes with Genjin having difficulties being accepted; the build-up of Senga being a dickish playboy-type who actually is only after blood, all the jealousy and fangirling for him and the upset when he does not want to date, just eat; the way he knows Yutaka has a crush on Tsumiki; the way Tsumiki's amusement park arc already got resolved in Chapter Four, so what else would happen in this chapter?

Before one interprets this as a swerve meant to salvage this arc... One should rule out that this was always the plan with Senga? I really think the author just stayed course with his introductory arc as planned even after people reacted negatively Much More Than Expected.

I really hope this doesn't get canned because people hallucinated cucking in it. I don't really get the idea this is a swerve into shoujo either. Tsumiki is cool and popular! She does stuff! Yutaka wants friends and to find out what he really wants and authentically engage with other people. They're making more friends together and helping each other enjoy scenarios they couldn't before—Yutaka thought it would be miserable and Tsumiki had never ever been. That kind of thing was literally the premise of the manga??

I get it, I'd like to date Tsumiki too, I'm super gay for the adorable werewolf girl. But if you looked at this and thought it would just be romantic moments between the leads you were not reading the first chapter, and if you think touching on these themes means there will be no romantic focus, you're being very silly.
