Love that the girls are all rallied behind Nicole.

The key point that they all understood is that, even though there were nothing untoward between the Keios and the princess, the neglect was still real.

And what Keios asked the girls to help him with? Props to the author for keeping him true to his character. He thought he could repair their relationship by love bombing her. Which, IRL, is also another red flag.

This is one of the freshest takes on the miscommunication trope. Usually it's two people dancing around what they want to say, because of pride or fear of rejection or embarrassment. Their actions make it obvious how they feel; they're too dense and afraid to see it. "UWU she held my hand at the fireworks show but does she like me like me?!

But this time he's so dense that his actions communicate the opposite of his feelings. There are slugs with more emotional intelligence. Author is calling it out as emotional abuse. Even writing a story within the story with a theme of "The Neglected Female Lead refuses to take them back." Fresh!

As much as I'm grateful that there's a girl(s) with sense to help push the plot and fiance into somewhere more productive, I'm kinda annoyed the princess (unintentionally) used her status and pushed Lobelia to help in the end. Like even if Lobelia did actually want to help that sad dumbass boy, she was still functionally pressured into it by a princess and her authority as a royal in what's probably a pretty hierarchical society.

Like what if Lobelia still didn't want to help them? We know the dumbutt of a princess wouldn't retaliate but she totally could if she wanted to, and that's the point. A big part of why Nicole ended up in this shit situation in the 1st place is because this princess was unawares and, while not knowingly, still pushed Nicole into a tough spot socially. Nicole not only had limited methods of protest, she had zero support until recently because the other party was a princess and her high ranked aide.

And here she is doing it again. She may be sympathetic and regretful towards Nicole but she's no more self aware of her (soft) powers and influence thereof now than the past. At least the cross dressing was fun. :dogkek:

Ajcjfnsxj man, this is such a small hill to overanalyze and die on. 😔 Like it's not a big deal, it really isn't, I just still don't like the princess and keios. The two dumbasses. They deserve each other. I hope Nicole gets an alternative love interest and goes for it but I doubt that's where the story is going, sadly :angery:

It's funny how Lobelia went from a lowkey harasser to spitting nothing but facts as Nicole's advocate. A clean dismantling of both offenders, especially Keios.

It would be interesting if they could actually find a good proper marriage partner for Nicole as well, though I doubt things will go that way. She doesn't need no man to be happy, but social obligations as a noble lady need a partner, in the end.

That was kind of a goofy misunderstanding, but I can't say it isn't accurate.

Can you spoil me the ending?
  • They go to the party
  • The princess fiancé is there
  • The princess's fiancé is impressed by Nicole and propose her to make her studies in his country
  • Keios realizes Nicole isn't binding to him if she can live at the neighbor country
  • Keios has an outburst where he declares his love and asks Nicole to not leave him
  • A year later
  • Nicole studies in the neighbor country
  • Keios follow her
  • Nicoles is still indifferent to Keios
  • Keios do what he can to regain her affection
  • The end (on the novel)
But apparently, the manga decides to continue the story.

That’s fucking fantastic and I pray the manga doesn’t walk it back

First time i have to say that nicole actually messed up, definitely check your letters one last time before sending them or youll have a blunder like this!
That aside, i love that the noble girls bascially echoed the sentiments of essentially every reader and that they refused to spy on their friend.
Id like to imagine that keios is so dumb that even after all thats already happend, without lobelias command this idiot wouldve still attended the ball with the princess. Lucky him
As always, thanks for the chapter!

Man, even if she didn't intend those words for him and they were just translations of the novel, they are still 100% accurate. He doesn't view her as a separate individual with agency and needs, but just a belonging that he might be losing because he ignored it for too long. There is zero actual love there.

Nicole is reading some... very dangerous literature. No wonder why the princess of such culture turned out to be who she is.

I wonder how they'll continue the story. Imo the novel's ending is good enough.
Personally hoping that the manga continuation either has Nicole find a new love or really supportive friends, or has Keios spend a minimum of five years before Nicole even thinks of going back to him
