That's perfectly okay, Japanese gyaru is not only derived from English gal, but is often rendered as "gal" by both English translators and native Japanese writers when writing in Latin script. And at least in the anime/manga community, the word "gal" has become widely associated with the character type.

Taking bets on the new Karin's nickname, I'm going with Shizuka.

That's an obvious one, but initial impressions can be deceiving. For all we know, the author is baiting us after twice employing "what you first see is what you get" for the first two, and her actual defining personality trait isn't "quiet girl".

From what I can tell, this isn't simply splitting Karin into component aspects, it also exaggerates each of those aspects into a full-fledged personality in her own right. Hell, I'm strongly suspecting that even Himeka isn't the "original", but just as much of a piece of the real original Karin as the others are.

Pseudo harem and the 100 girlfriends mangas have really influenced this next generation of romCom

cus this is the SECOND recent manga I've seen where the mc has a harem of the same girl/ diferente versions of said girl.

It's been pointed out more than once by different people that the "eighth" girl, the child one (dubbed "Lolika" by some commenters here), is most probably not an eighth split but rather the original Karin from 10 years ago, since she looks exactly like her, down to wearing the same dress.
