Last chapter people were talking about the down played premises in this story, but the main girl WAS supposed to be that cute and adored. I remembered the intro where the MC said people thought she'd be a perfect fit for his brother. But no, she's mostly just portrayed as a space case. Still very pretty but not really sought after, or talked about in and of herself. I'm also glad it turned out this way.

Hasegawa feels like an amalgam of Rei's fan base. We're definitely not supposed to like her yet.

Unlike the fan base, though, she seems to be the only one that thinks that Tohno not being in a relationship is what's holding back Rei from dating anyone.

So, she's actively supporting Tohno and Houjou without scheming --- now --- to use either to get closer to Rei.

Hasegawa is redeemable. Though, I don't think she should automatically wind up with Rei.
