I imagine that things will come around and Luna will make up with her mother and accept her as long as Else also accepts that Luna's new family is just as "real" before Else then leaves to continue adventuring and is only ever seen sporadically after that, if at all. Either that or we go full Nycto and Else gets sucked into something evil and dies as a result, with her last act being to tell Reda and the others to take care of Luna for her. Seems like there's probably not a lot of middle ground given how things have unfolded in this series on the whole.

I also remember a while back that people figured whoever the mystery woman on the volume 9 cover was (it's Else) would end up a harem member, but that seems unlikely now and the fact that Nycto was on a volume cover and didn't join the harem suggests that it's not fait accompli that making the cover = becoming a prominent recurring/regular character.

I'm wondering that too. I can't recall if they were introduced previously, but hopefully the mother doesn't try more trouble.

The mother needed to calm down.

Well, she's being unreasonable, but her behaviour is hardly surprising. She's been enslaved as a child, raped, made to give birth, then separated from her child. That's just traumatic event after traumatic event and that doesn't make for a stable adult.

Since she had no education but just her strength, she could become an adventurer, but it's a rough world filled with death, and she's apparently been alone this entire time since she might have trust issues. Wanting to regain some happiness and not be alone anymore, she's held on to the notion that her purpose was to find and rescue her daughter and live happy as a family. It's what kept her driven which is why she was so forceful about it (that and strength being the only thing that matters are the only lessons she's ever learned in her rough life).

She's not in a good place right now. I'll just hope she doesn't die now, can find a way to establish a relation with her daughter and find some new purpose in life as it'll mean she found a way out of her hellhole of a life.

Best case scenario is we have this woman talk some sense into the mother. The mother comes back to talk with MC and ask him to continue taking care of her but ask for his help in moving into the town with them so she can be close to her daughter. Have Luna overhear it and walk in and tell her she can't be her mom but she can at least start as a friend. Then they slowly get closer. None of that will happen though....

Oh yeah, hit her right where it hurts, bringing the r*pist into the argument as 'family', which may technically be true, but not the kind of truth the mother wanted to hear.

I kind of have to applaud Luna for that one. Will have to save that for any other arguments I see in the near future.
