I feel he ain't doing too badly... He considered she likes him (for a few seconds at least), pulls off good moves -that "I'll always carry you" hit hard and does indeed deserve Guile's theme- and was actually moving in for the kill in chapter 4 before the trophy interruption...

Also, whose bedroom door is only 180cm (a little under 6ft)? Maybe it's just a Western thing since the average height is taller, but I feel like a LOT of people in NA/EU would need to duck their heads to get in to something that low. I don't think I've ever been to a place in the States/EU where there has been a door that's any lower than like 200cm (a little above 6 and a half ft)...

I mean, as did I, but that phrase about "communication" just cements things. This isn't a case of the author not understanding how relationships work, and instead a conscious decision to intentionally overcomplicate their relationship with the trope of 'girl wants to make the guy she likes confess to her because she's too whatever to confess herself'. Which is silly and annoying.
