Huh, so the man actually has a plan!? And here I thought he was resisting the implications of the secret he overheard last time, and was going to keep this either until the final chapter or to his grave. Like a lot of male-oriented romances tend to do. Apparently a successful confession is the finish line for a romance by such "standards".

If he manages to confess first and start dating Narsena before Laila and Zieg becomes a thing he'd be ahead. Not that it'll be hard since Zieg is currently dense with Laila. Double dates when?!

If you think about it, the current dumb drama is happening mostly as a brake to delay Raust from confessing...

He might be dense, but she never said anything at all in this regard. For all he knows, she might be just thinking about anything but being romanticaly involved with him. In that regard, it's better to purposelly be dense than to try to do something without consent and have the relationship strained because of that.
