thats kind of the whole story yeah. it's about two very broken people using each other to get a little better and keep going thru life even if they both know its unhealthy. it's not a sad story but it's not a happy one, it's just kind of bluntly realistic.
think about how many people you've met or coworkers you've had who are in an obviously loveless relationship but just need support of any kind and can get it from the other person. it's depressing, but it's a life a lot of people live.
It's honestly why I kind of like the series.
So many romance manga are about "neatness" and always focusing on a happy ending for the characters. There's not a whole lot of "and then they don't get together and just sorta have to live their lives dissatisfied", and having a series that leans into that general message (whether or not it actually lands on that note) is refreshing in its banal realism.
Not everything in life turns out the way we want or even in a positive sense. That doesn't mean it's a bad or sad thing, but just a reality that must be kept in mind.
I think all I
would want is a sense of closure for them, just because it is a story so a definite "end point" to the narrative would be appreciated.
A period than a comma, type thing.
