Rudel was a real historical person and aside the dramatization, he did sink the Soviet battleship Marat in his Stuka.

Any readers please be aware Rudel was also an unrepentant neonazi post-war, creating an organisation to help war criminals escape, became friends with Mengele in Argentina, worked as arms dealer, and as military advisor to Latin American dictators(Peron, Pinochet, Stroessner). In the 50s he came back to West Germany and aside a short trips back to Latin America, worked for, represented and acted as spokesperson for a multitude of neo-nazi political parties there all the way until his death in 1982. Quite a guy...

@Chizan
Hard to negatively view him when the terms are so watered down that it meant the opposite.

@DesertStorm Looking at Mossad track record, I would rather mess with the CIA or FSB than them. Those 2 seem humane in the face of Mossad's terror.

Should I question why the "Shadow of Death" in the first chapter looks like a "Uterus with Ovaries"?

cool art, still typical wehraboo trash, even if it is about someone who operated exclusively on the eastern front

@Jimona I'm imagining how fucking awesome an Eastern Front manga would be. A group of Slavic (not Soviet) partisans fighting behind enemy lines, only to get betrayed by Stalin. A penal battalion taking place in battles making the opening of Saving Private Ryan look like it was made for kids. Both connected by a group of intelligence officers (who are the ones who dictate the Penal battalion and coordinate with the partisans prior to their betrayal). After that the story could go any way. ie Golden Kamuy, where the partisan group tries to escape and track down memorabilia and treasures left behind by the Nazis to fund their revenge against the people that betrayed them, with the penal battalion gets conditional release as a reward for tracking them down.

There seem to be some mistakes in terms of historical accuracy, also censorship of symbols, but overall it seems like it's an interesting manga. Art is good too and it's rare to see a war story, especially that of WW2, and told from the Axis side. Thanks for good translations Chillock.
