I did enjoy this manga, but felt that the description was pretty unfair to Ulises. If he was, in fact, boorish and inflexible, (I spent many years in the military) his wife's former suitor who attacked him would have been clapped in irons at the very least and quite possibly executed. Her family was either sycophantic (father and younger brothers) or judgemental and condescending (older brothers). He was clumsy around her, but of his own volition worked hard to understand and make her happy and secure. Her father saw Lea as somewhat of a commodity to pay his "debt," and her older brothers made snap judgements about Ulises without ever trying to understand him. The eldest brother (government bureaucrat) wasn't doing jack to help the villagers victimized by the landslide, he just came to his sister when her husband was away and trashed his character.
