@Lanfear To be fair, it's more of an illusionary double standard than a real one... like how if a kid asks for more Ice Cream, he won't get it, but thinks it's unfair when his brother gets more broccoli after he asked for that... it seems like a similar issue (one gets more when he asks)... but it's not...

Mainly, boys can have harems in most cultures, a boy is expected to bang more ladies and boys don't get pregnant..... to name a few...

So it's not a double standard, it just looks like one...

I think it's fair to say that everyone agrees that onee×shota isn't okay, never was, and never will be - probably -. And that it's only as popular as it is because your average Manga reader is more likely to prefer self - inserting as little boy being preyed upon by a female sexual predator, than a male sexual predator preying upon a little girl.

Except it is a double standard. South Park did an episode on it where the school teacher was sleeping with a student. When everyone thought it was a man it was horrible and the police cared. When it was shown to be a female teacher on male student suddenly it wasn’t a problem.
