I just hope this manga actually manages to survive author's health hiatus, I still miss ruri dragon, though I'm not really sure if that was for another reason

I should've checked the tags before reading cuz I didn't realise it was a harem until now :meguuusad:
I’m betting it wasn’t there originally, because I find manga almost exclusively by filtering out harem manga.

Maybe I’ll just reread “I Am the Sorcerer King” instead.

ofc its a hiatus. i dont wanna sound like an asshole, but how does a manga that updates so slowly (almost once a month with few pages) can be so burdensome to the authors health?

A couple options:
  1. You have things backwards. The statement was not a hiatus because author is sick because of manga being burdensome(bad health because monthly manga). But rather author is sick and unable to draw high enough quality while sick. Author could have ebola, a dog could've bitten their wrist, they could've been hit by a truck trying to isekai them, so they are taking a break to recover until they can draw well again.
  2. Author is dealing with mental health related issue.
  3. Author may have multiple series(only one on mangadex, but often adaptations like this can have one author over several at the same time.)
  4. Preexisting injury is aggravated.
  5. Manga industry is tougher than it looks. I can't speak for this series. But even releasing a weekly manga like one piece can mean long hours with 3 hours of sleep or less, as a pro with assistants. Many weekly mangas would release every 1.5 or 2 weeks if they had more reasonable working conditions. Someone who is not a pro, without assistants, might take substantially longer to produce the same content. (I'm not saying that applies here at all persay. A detail rich series like one piece or one punch man manga is far different from something like this. Regardless, drawing a manga series is definitely way harder than you give it credit for)

Thank you for actually bringing points that could explain it!

We all remember that this started showing him in a generic hero outfit with 2 kirito swords right?
Anyway theres just no logical way that he thinks the guy he murdered is this random woman infront of him because of the way she looks at him thats just braidnead

So the manga is on hiatus after this chapter, because of mangaka's illness? OK. So, what's the reason the novel&webnovel are on hiatus since close to two years? That's a lot of hiatus...
I'm guessing they stopped it in favour of continuing in the manga only, possibly as part of the contract they made. Last chapter on syosetu was April 12th, while this page notes it "started" (the page was made) April 1st. https://seiga.nicovideo.jp/comic/57679 also confirmed to start same day on their Twitter:
Author has also written for other series they write and continued to upload them to syosetu as well, since, including Konjiki no Word Master, so the author wasn't in constant hiatus. Additionally, the comic for this series is currently at chapter 19, according to the link above.

The mangaka had started working again. The latest raw is chapter 19 that seems to be released last month.

I hope the artist is feeling better. Gender swap is a nice way to spice up a cliche disguise plotline.
