He stopped it because they surrendered. If he killed him then it might have ended in political trouble.

Still a mistake. Any Trouble they would have caused would be damped by them not having their Heavy hitter anymore so I agree he should have just pulled through but that is from a logical view and sadly this MC is a decent person.

He didn't communicate with or kill the hero because that's how these stories work. This whole chapter was so paint-by-numbers cliched that it might as well have been written by a shonen action manga AI trained on the most cliched shonen manga ever written. After he confront the hero with the idea of being a hero, good and evil, thats what the author think suit the best?
Im expecting him denying hero's title, how hes just a puppet, or something along those lines.
