There are certainly examples of a "breastplate" that's just a smaller rigid piece of metal that covers the heart, but they're always used in combination with some other more substantial armor as a type of reinforcement.

Whatever this is is just silly.

Yeah, the part to protect one brest from blisters or injuries when a string of a bow gets pulled over it! But this one...And even the bow is too small to even need such a protection!
