@Med1um: That's just in the web novel. In the published light novel, she takes it about as well as she does in the manga (the manga is based on the LN).
@Tubarrone: Just start from the beginning. The manga's cut out all the other alternate points of view, all of which provide quite a bit of world-buiding.
@darasu I meant standard for this type of story. I think the one about the slime might be the only one I've seen that hasn't followed the same route. Most go even harder on the angsty "I am not bound by petty morals" theme.
@DarkLordAlfie well tbf, theyre trying to kill him, if they escape theres a good chance theyll organize a better assault on his lair again. Its not like he has a lot of options here if he wants to survive...
@banjomarx Unless I am wildly mistaken, isn't the main character female? And I'm just saying the whole "no empathy" thing is cringy and played out besides. And supposedly she was working toward escaping the labyrinth and living with humans, and rather then seizing this oppurtunity she is murdering people of no real danger to herself, who had no reason to think she is anything but a dangerously powerful mindless monster in an area that usually has much weaker monsters.
@linkhuesitos15 hmm, I always thought of her as a depressed kid at the start. She had no friends, she was still chunni in a way and what not. We did have one chunni who never was able to make a friend off himself in school. Those who made friends eventually became better. The new world and body brought her out of her depression for a bit till it felt like she spiraled into sociopath
Don't forget her parents were work aholics and there was no good parenting by them, so why should she love them or care for them
@DarkLordAlfie She is female. Rather than living with humans, she wants some level of social interaction after all this dungeon stuff.
Normally I would hate killing sprees like this, but in this case there's a story with this weird system influencing everyone and things beyond our goof of a spider. I only hate it when the author never explores the lack of mercy.
@DarkLordAlfie Read my essay a few comments before, she literally didn't had choice she was indirectly force to take this path.
Kumo is the favorite toy of the "worst evil god", do you really think that that god would let Kumo have a pacific life with the humans?
Something I forgot to add on my essay is that in that world even if it has the memories of the past life the soul will try to adapt to the new body. One of the other reincarnators is a man who was reincarnated as a woman and before he/she noticed it she become more girly, delicade and obviously she now likes boys.
Now apply this to Kumo who was reincarnated as a monster ?
Even if that god tried to deny it later she literally choose where everyone of them was reincarnated for the lol (<- not my words she literally says this)
- The most normal dude = Prince
- The guy that never had a girlfriend = Women (very hot)
- Teacher = loli elf
- Girl who was very proud of her body = Another monster
- The bully of the classroom = Prince of the most militar country
- Boy that hated violence and strongly believed in justice = Goblin
- And many more
The guy that became a girl when he reincarnated was gay from the start.
It's true that that doesn't really have anything to do with gender identity so D is clearly trolling, but I just wanted to point that out. He spent the longest time in denial though, and even confessed to the class beauty with the intent to get rejected just to cover it up.
The rest of the reincarnations are still pretty ironic though, for what are supposed to be the forms most compatible with their souls. Not that the goblins are actually all that violent or crazy.
I know but I love to give half true spoilers. I think about it as the final little surprise even if they know what happened they don't exactly whor how
@DarkLordAlfie What do you mean about "standard for this type of story"? It's just too broad. IMO. This is an Isekai and I'm sure most Isekai series are not like this. I mean killing humans for exp farming.
“What?!” Ronandt bellows. “It created magic from scratch without using a skill?!” (Ronandt = Elderly Mage)
I can’t believe my ears.
Is that really possible?
Even the strongest human mage alive is clearly disturbed. (Strongest human mage = Elderly mage)
