@iDiarkis Chang Ge’s (MC) father was the crown prince Li Jian Cheng, her mum was an Uyghur (ethnic race in central China) called Ah Jin who fell in love with the second prince Li Shi Min (Chang Ge’s uncle) after he rescued her on the battlefield. She chose to marry Chang ge’s father (for reasons that are not clearly explained or maybe I’m missing something) who was plotting with their third brother to assassinate Li Shi Min because of an internal power struggle. Li Shi Min was heartbroken and hasn’t gotten over it after 16 years. It’s implied that Ah Jin warned Li Shi Min of the assassination attempt, so to protect his own life Li Shi Min had to assassinate Chang Ge’s father and other uncle. And that ties in with the start of the story - the XuanWu Gate incident where Chang Ge’s whole family gets killed by her uncle and she vows to take revenge.
