Whenever I think back to this moment, where Marin finally kissed Gojo, it feels… odd. Not in a bad way, but I constantly need to remind myself that Gojo and Kitagawa are now (Probably) a couple. This confession feels so incredibly perfect it stands out in my mind, and it confuses me. If I had to describe it, it would be like every experience that Gojo had with Kitagawa added up like strings weaving into stronger strings, imagine for me using strings and twisting them around each other until you get a stronger singular string, granting him more self confidence, helping him understand that other people helping is important since they have experience, etc. Until all of those adds up, and his current, string for the lack of a better metaphor, expresses his current emotion, and how he feels for Kitagawa, Sad, and that he loves her. Kitagawa’s string is everything she’s felt for Gojo and alongside the fact that she’s never seen him upset or moody, directly using the words from Church of Potteto’s translation, she's upset and probably blaming it on herself, since she’s never seen him that way. When these two strings collide in this chapter, it opens up every emotion Gojo has felt with Kitagawa, and the fact that he often doubts himself, and is sometimes Selfish of certain things, such as bringing Haniel back to life through Kitagawa.
He’s now jealous of her, jealous of all the attention she gets, and doesn’t want her to keep doing it because he’s afraid she’ll be too far out of reach for him. It creates knots, in his string of personality, that are a constant reminder that he thinks that even though he loves her, he will never be able to express his feelings, because by then, she’ll never hang out with him. False confessions can make or break relationships, it can make the mood awkward if the opposing party does not have said feelings for you. When Kitagawa said that he should have told her if she was a burden, Gojo recalled his memories with Kitagawa, and explained to her that he was grateful for everything she’s done for him.
When Kitagawa yelled at him, asking why he was so upset and moody, it was like these knots tied harder, the knots being within the big string, made from other tiny strings that made up the huge string. He then manages to explain why he was in such a mood during the Winter Comiket, that he was jealous, and that he hated the attention she got, his knots were tightening even more, reminding him of what will happen if he tells her, but his heart can’t accept it. When Gojo says he loves her, his knots tighten to the point where he feels despair, knowing that he will never see her again. But of course, Kitagawa gets on the tracks, and rams into him, knocking him down on the floor, and confessing her love for him as well. Her upbeat and happy mood rattles Gojo to his core, surprised that she would ever love him at all, and loosening his knots, as Kitagawa, very brashly, undoes them with her string. While Gojo is not happy again, he will probably be very confused after this chapter, like I am, since this is obviously very sudden.
Overall, it was an incredible chapter, 10/10. Kitagawa tackling Gojo at the end made the dense mood clear up perfectly, and set the perfect mood for Kitagawa to return to her original happy, and constantly excited form. I couldn’t have anticipated this at all. I believe that this chapter is perfect, and I could not have imagined a better confession. Thank you for reading.
