Yeah, the decision to end the manga here was definitely made within the past ~6 months or so- as recently as the first post-confession chapter they were planting the seeds of them being discovered as the ones behind the Haniel cosplay everyone was going wild over which was clearly meant to be the next major story arc. But I assume that arc in a nutshell would be "they get the opportunity to go pro with their cosplay, dip their toes in that world a bit, and ultimately decide they'd rather keep cosplay as a hobby than make it their job" so the actual end state of the two wouldn't change from what we have here. This ending was terrible. No goodbye scenes with any of our favorite characters? Just a time skip to a pointless scene? Seriously was this ending unplanned? Something about all of this felt rushed and forced.
The entire Mandate of Heaven Arc was such a drag of a final arc. There's no way this was what the author originally intended. We were only just getting started with Marin's rise to fame, Gojo's accomplishments around his Hina Dolls, and their budding romance. I really can only imagine the man being tired, exhausted, and unable to continue working to conclude it like this.We literally spent more time focused on finding Black Fabric than the Romance. Gheeze
Man.... I didn't even think of all of the other characters. Completed relegated to meaningless side characters. What a shame.Boring end ngl. Would still prefer this instead of it crashing and burning like in Oshi no Ko.
I still don't care about the cosplay portions, but we never got to see Wakana get some attention from the cosplay world like it should've happened.
No closure from the other characters too.
