I knew I sang praises in my earlier comment, but there is just one major miss this series committed, and that is they never got to truly cover Gojou's major development in terms of his Hina doll craft. They already showed before that Gojou browsed over the french Bisque dolls and he applied this to Marin's Haniel cosplay (overall prop and make-up style) but I can guess that he will also apply its appeal to the hina dolls he is creating, thus bringing his name up and making his work distinct from the rest of the hina dolls. But yeah, they really just have to wrap things up and quit while they're still on a good note.

Reading the comments and it reminded me just how big this series was loll

I'm a slice of life fiend, so I thought an ending like this was actually really really good, but I guess most people wanted more out of the romance

I'm so used to Slice of Life romance series ending so abruptly (🪓) and with a confession in the last chapter, but getting to see the couple have a few chapters after they get together AND a time-skip ending?? That's an embarrassment of riches right there loll

Well that was an ending. Idk man, surprisingly im just like, "okay, alright". I wouldnt say it's underwhelming but I wouldn't say it was a good ending either. But its definitely an ending. Hoping the epilogue gives a better send off tbh

I was 18 years old when Dress Up Darling came out.

I had just moved out of my parents home and was busy being a shitty young adult doing dumb stuff with my friends and dreaming of grandeur.

I am 25 years old when Dress Up Darling is ending.

I now have a wife and 3 children. I'm an entirely different man, and now, a story that began with that 18 year old dreamer is laid to rest.

Good night, everyone :meguuusad:

We literally spent more time focused on finding Black Fabric than the Romance. Gheeze
The arc was about perfectionism. Both Wakana and Shiba are driven by it despite the fact no one else around them understands what they are striving to achieve. Shiba's praise of Wakana's work is the acknowledgement that they are the same.

The fact that so many readers thought the search for the material took too long serves as proof that the arc was well-executed because it replicated this dynamic with Fukuda-sensei's own audience.

Oh well that was kind of anticlimactic. Wonder why the author decided to just time skip the hell out of everything after the confession hmmm

A shame but an enjoyable ride regardless.

Guess that was the best ending we could have under these circumstances.

Absolutely sure it ran shorter than the author originally planned because otherwise, why would they mention Wakana’s twitter or the talent scout looking for Marin towards the end. I’m sure there was still something planned for those. We may never see those plot lines in the epilogue and side stories :( those would’ve been interesting. Anyone writing fanfic about those? Please mention me lol

The back like 60% or more of this manga was fucking dogshit. The last two arcs were TERRIBLE.

8/10 premise, 10/10 up to like just after the hotel photoshoot.

Ended terribly. The back portion was so bad I dont want to read whatever this author does next. I hope the artist gets paired with someone who can actually write something worth half a damn

On the last page, there will be side stories and epilogue, so let's wait for that!

It’s CRAZY, like actually clinically INSANE that this ended in the abrupt way that it did. So much potential just in the void. Lost to the abyss.

Don’t get me wrong, it looks like the mangaka at least tried to put together a low key and wholesome ending (which was better than many endings recently); but good god man, this is a GIANT in the manga world, and it ended so damn quickly.

It’s rough to see this go in the way that it did, but cheers everyone who was along for the ride. Thanks so much for all the translations, it’s been a blast.

The ship sailed and made it the end, a bit rushed of course, but I cannot complain too much. Will miss this series, thank you.

The last two cosplay arcs were even bullshit on the cosplay info, one of them was just Wakana just saying "No that black isn't black enough" and not even going into detail about how different fabrics look, feel and are manufactured. The last THREE YEARS of this manga fucking sucked.
