Except that's a total lie though? They were only good for dealing with the fodder. He's the one who threw his sword through the giant monster and expertly impaled the necromancer in the face.

Even when he was surrounded, he still had the strength to shove skeletons off the bridge, and didn't get hurt at all in the process. There's no reason to think that he couldn't have handled this all on his own, and the only bit of help he did receive was when the guards shot that cannon.

The most they did was make the fight go by faster. Beyond that, their only purpose was to glaze Sieg, and be eye candy since this is a harem manga.
