So Seven said that to save his friend he'd need a ladle. In the current timeline the friend ran out and almost got hit because she saw him over Seven with a ladle. However in the Original timeline such an event should not have occurred. But the Friend had just walked in with a Pot of Curry. No Ladle. So probably ran out to get the ladle she forgot, so the ladle was to prevent her from running out to start with, not to pull her out of the way of the truck.

TLDR; Friend forgot the Ladle.

This one is probably subjective so take it or not. "...mistaken you for a molester,..." sounds strange in english, something like "...you have been mistaken for a molester,..." would be better
