Thanks for picking this up! The concept of stories from letters isn't really new but somehow these have their own unique twist! I have liked all of the series scanlated from the author, so I'm excited for this one!

Based on this story alone, I've rated this series a 10. Even if the rest of the series doesn't add up to much, I won't change my rating as this chapter stands alone as one of the very best of short oneshots I've read.

This doesn't quite land for me. I was invested, but then the anti-deus-ex-machina out of nowhere was silly and funny and whimsical, and I was supposing that that was fine too, but then following it the ending just pulls a stock tragic-magic-amnesia trope with no frills attached and calls it a day?

Is this some sort of artsy-fartsy intentional bathos?

Reminds me of watching the first episode of (the anime version of) Level E, except with the penultimate dramatic and comedic twists reversed. I feel like I got trolled successfully, but that it felt like there wasn't any narrative point to it having done so.

@rettea I know this is a few months late but "lub dub" is usually how a heartbeat sounds in english

...This must be a regional thing or something. I've only run into it once or twice in my entire life—and that from scanlators in situations exactly like this, looking for a translation for "doki-doki" or similar.

I'm used to "ba-thump," "ba-dump," maybe "thump thump" and so on.
