okay the father seems to have an actual reason for why he treats her badly even if its stupid but so far the mother genuinely seems to just be an asshole

Both her parents are dipshits.

I don't see how they can be redeemed at all honestly. I really hope she goes the leave the household route and not repair relationship with family route, cause fuck all that noise.

They put the cat in the family portrait and not her. No one would blame her if she straight up went Lizzie Borden on them.

Can see the picture in the last page. Ether it was made before she was born or that refused to include her, which would make sense with how they act towards her....sad.

hmmmm, there's a small chance mom is a tsundere... maybe I'm just really hoping she has an actual ally and am deluding myself, but there's a small hope
i agree while the mother is rude she was more judgemental on her choices and still let her buy the stuff, hoping she is an ally

Even if it was made before she was born it was quite normal to add new family members and stuff after they were born (or include dead ones) (don’t remember if it was common for royalty tho, I’m pretty sure it was)
Then again. Manga are not know fpr their historical accuracy. Most people don’t tend to do research on this kinda stuff either, even if they write in historical (or historical based settings (cries in fashion (cries in horrible tea-time etiquette and etiquette in general everywhere))

Given that the picture at the end has her looking at it.. pretty sure it's a plot point, which means that it was deliberately painted without her in it.. and I doubt it's from before she was born just for the fact that the brother looks about the same age.

If I recall correctly in previous chapters, she was seen as like a lifeless doll or something.. and the maids are the ones who have really noticed the change, so maybe the Mother, while still a twat, was on guard or something when noticing she was acting differently/speaking up about the clothes/speaking so much.

That's what I was thinking, or rather, there's more to this than the surface level. My current theory, she agreed with the plan knowing it was best for the child if the future played out like it would but still cares for her. Hence her suggesting the child should get bright clothes if she wants, or buy the gift for the maids instead of making them. For the first, she wants her child to have clothes she likes rather than just being frugal, and for the second, she's offering to pay for the gifts the child wants to give instead of having to work for them. Subtle ways of showing support while having the appearance of neglect or cruelty. Also, this part is a bit meta, but if you look at her eyes in each of the pages, they're always bright and shining. Usually when a character is being truly mean and hateful they'd be duller and flatter.

So ya, I think this is a double fake out plot wise. An isekai with a timeloop family. Still messed up what's being done to a kid, but people in dire circumstances will often make poor decisions if they think it'll save someone they care about. Guess we'll see as the story progresses.

I’m betting that the black haired dude is the dad and the blond dude is the uncle who “ took her in”

When she was looking through the ledgers, I thought for a moment she was the 'cat.' Even when I saw the portrait, I wondered if she was considered a 'pet' due her confinement and no one in the family expecting her to do or live long.

So this family is neuvoux riche, I think - a new noble family, probably the grandfather? Which would suggest that they're just assholes who are obsessed with how everything looks to Other Nobles, and are trying to fit in with them...by being assholes.
